I love auto racing, primarily NASCAR, but I do enjoy Touring Car, World Rally, and any of the GT classes. NASCAR is an acquired taste, most people think of it as "turn left and go fast", but it isn't, there is actually a lot more to it than that. At first I didn't think much of the sport, yeah it was cool to see some gnarly wrecks, but that was it for the most part. The more I watched and learned of the drivers and strategies used, the more hooked I got, now I can't miss a race. For those of you who still think NASCAR is lame, check out some Super Touring Car racing or WRC (World Rally Championship) racing. Super Touring Car is Volvos, BMWs, Audis, Opels, etc. all lowered to the ground and racing on paved courses, they don't have the speed or the handling of Indy but more fun to watch. Now WRC is some intense stuff, totally balls to the wall, flying by the seat of your pants racing. There is a driver and a navigator in each car, the navigator is there to give the driver a heads up of what is coming on the course ahead considering the rate of speed these guys are going and the fact that the races are not on an actual race track. Imagine busting along a dirt/asphalt/gravel/muddy road in a 300+ Hp Subaru Impreza, yeah, watch out for that tree!
